The heart of the country, close to the city . . .

Bucklesham is a small village, with all the country virtues you'd expect, yet it's only a few miles from Ipswich, Suffolk's county town, with all the shops, supermarkets and facilities you need. Even closer is the port and resort town of Felixstowe, where you can eat your ice-cream on the beach while watching the world's largest container ships come and go!

If you enjoy small villages and their pubs, country gardens and cottages, you're in the right place. The riverside village of Waldringfield is close by, with the famous Maybush pub looking out over the moorings - its a popular venue for lunch or dinner, so be early to get the best tables indoors or out.

For a taste of country town life, drive a little further to Woodbridge, at the head of the River Deben, and potter around the town's wide selection of shops, enjoy a drink or meal in a pub, restaurant or cafe, and follow that with a film at the delightful Riverside Theatre.
