Suffolk offers a paradise to walkers and nature lovers with splendid picturesque coastal walks or more gentle rambles in the surrounding countryside.

Bucklsham is served by a bus service which can be caught from just outside the local primary school – only a short walk from the entrance of Westwood Park. The service is on a link between Woodbridge and Felixstowe however, many other interconnecting routes can easily be caught – please ask reception for a timetable.

Ipswich is steeped in history, yet full of life. There’s a chance to stroll along its historic Waterfront and streets, and plenty of entertainment – a vibrant mix of heritage, the arts, theatre, cinema, clubs and bars.

Felixstowe is an attractive seaside resort that has retained much of its charm and elegance over the years. Beautiful gardens line its long, level promenade and Felixstowe boasts over 4 miles of sand and shingle beaches still dotted with colourful beach huts.

The riverside village of Waldringfield is close by, with the famous Maybush pub looking out over the moorings – its a popular venue for lunch or dinner, so be early to get the best tables indoors or out.

Alton Water

Set in beautiful Suffolk countryside, Alton Water Park is the largest area of inland water in Suffolk.

For a taste of country town life, drive a little further to Woodbridge, at the head of the River Deben, and potter around the town’s wide selection of shops, enjoy a drink or meal in a pub, restaurant or cafe, and follow that with a film at the delightful Riverside Theatre.

Aldeburgh is a small seaside town on the unspoilt East Suffolk coast. In the 16th Century it was a thriving port and shipbuilding area, becoming a fishing village and seaside resort in the 19th Century.

Southwold is a charming north Suffolk seaside town on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Almost an island, being bounded by the North Sea to the East, by the River Blyth and Southwold harbour to the South-West and by Buss Creek to the North, there is just the one road in to and out of Southwold.
