Friendly, Welcoming Site

Dec 08, 2016 by Brian D

We spent a lovely week here in early July with our little Grandson. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made so welcome by the owners, their site staff and others staying on the site. The site was well organised and the facilities were really clean. We stayed here whilst visiting Jimmys Farm Sausage and Beer Festival and we had great fun there too. We found lots to do around the area with out Granson and we look forward to returning again.

Static Holiday Home

Mar 09, 2016 by Jen

We have now bought ourselves a beautiful new Static Holiday Home at Westwood Park.
We have our own garden surrounded by a fence, which is great for our dog and grandchildren when they come to visit.
Westwood is such a lovely quiet Park in the countryside in Bucklesham, but only a few miles away from Felixstowe beach.
We are so looking forward to spending time here with many interesting places to visit and places to eat.

Henry's first holiday

Aug 12, 2015 by Jon Wilson

We have just spent a lovely week at Westwood. This was the first holiday for our little boy and so we needed somewhere quiet and relaxed that he could run around in safety. Everything about the site suited this and he certainly had a wonderful time. The site is very well laid out and the facilities were very clean and inviting. The children's play area was just right and Henry loved playing there. Thank you to all, including the various "regulars" who made us feel very welcome.

We had a great week camping at Westwood Park. Facilities were spotless and good to have own water tap and electric hookup included. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Suffolk was a county we didn't know, and Westwood Park made a good centre to base ourselves. Hope to return sometime.

Lovely and enjoyable stay

Jul 12, 2015 by Lewis Jones

This was a safe, lovely and friendly campsite for families. I took my 3yr old daughter camping for her first time.

Westwood Caravan Park was ideal to give camping I try with my daughter, pitched next to a safe play area where I could see her from the tent and where other children played together nicely.

Seasonal guests were friendly and invited us to a BBQ on the second night - thank you Maxine and Ken of Chelmsford.

Situated in a lovely spot of Suffolk, ideal for exploring the local countryside and walks around Newbourne, Kirton and Hemley.

As a test to see if my daughter would enjoy camping - it was a SUCCESS.

A perfect place for a short stay or to visit on a regular basis for weekends in the Suffolk countryside.

great stay

Thank you for a brilliant stay. We camped for 5 nights. We have stayed on sites before that are predominantly for caravans, and that have a few pitches for tents, and have had mixed experiences (relegated to the waterlogged, sloping fields etc). This site is the best that we have stayed on. Cleanliness so good you could eat your dinner in the toilet block. Well organised site; I particularly liked the small touches such as an area for children to play ball games, as this is not allowed around the general site. Staff were friendly, visible and helpful, without making it feel like they were watching you. Don't go if you want night life and excitement, do go if you want a chilled base to visit Suffolk.

Just come back from another lovely weekend at Westwood Park, always a warm welcome and always very clean facilities too. This is our 6th visit and things improve every year, nice little play area and games room with pool table for the kids, the owners children always happy to keep ours occupied too, My in-laws used one of the hire vans again and this enables us to have a family get together without be under each others feet, will be back again soon.

Pristeen site with such helpful and approachable owners. Spent one night and was glad to come back after subsequent caravan site.
Plots were clearly deliniated and large enough to give some privacy, lots of sesonal plots so would never be overpopulated, gravel road so no wellingtons nessesary, etc. etc. etc.. Only problem is it was mapped on rong side of road in sat. nav.. It got us there though. I’d give it 9 out of ten but can’t find anything to account for the 1 so have to give it 10 out of 10.
Stayed 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th on plot 80.

WOW, this is a lovely family friendly and well maintained caravan park. We stayed in one of the hire fleet caravans over the Jubilee weekend. I will definately visit this park again.

We’re first time campers so decided to have a short Bank holiday break close to home in case of any disasters and were very impressed with this campsite. The layout is well thought out and maintained and the facilities in good nick! Lovely little park for the children to occupy themselves in, plenty of space per pitch and friendly staff and fellow campers. Slight issues with electricity and weather but had a lovely time regardless. Would recommend this site for anyone considering it. Thanks for a lovely stay and first camping experience :-)

This was are first vist at Easter Weekend and we thought that the facilities where first class, as they where always clean and in tip top condition, it was very peaceful and everyone got on really well with each other. As well it was handy to get into Ipswichs’ footbal stadium and shopping centre as the caravan site was close by. It was nice to have a water tap next to the pitch, so we didn’t have to walk very far. As well the games room was excellent as it only cost 50p to play a game of pool. Sainbury’s and tesco where also close and handy to get the essentials. As well bowling and KFC where close by. Felixstowe had a large public swimming pool. ;-) :-) :D

My family had a wonderful stay at Westwood in August. The owners are friendly and helpful, the site and facilities were very clean. My children never even argued during our stay!
The site is minutes away (by car) from The Red Lion at Martlesham, they serve excellent food for all the family.
We will be back in 2012, thank you. :-)

We stayed for a week on 30/8/2011 on pitch 31 in our tent. Our children aged 8 and 13, enjoyed park and games room on site. Overall the site was quiet and very clean. (excellent/clean toilet and shower facilities). A very good base for lots of tourist attractions around suffolk. Very helpful and friendly owners. Site is next to a road but after the first night traffic noise was not a problem. Overall an excellent site, will most certainly return.:-)

We have just spent a very relaxing 10 days camping at Westwood and found the site to be clean, friendly, but not too big so remained quite quiet even though full. Our 8 year old loved the play area and our pitch (70) was close by so we could keep an eye. We liked the fact that the pitches are flat, showers were always hot (and warm in the children’s shower), facilities clean and there were water taps close to pitches. Great to have the washing machine and tumble dryer too. (Also very easy access by car to Tesco Extra for supplies.) We will definitely be back! Thank you! :-)

What a fab site. We stayed for 3 nights in August 2011 on pitch 26 and 27 in Tents. The facilities are spotless and well respected. The toilets and Showers were always clean. Overall the whole site seemed well respected by others. Very well located for days out. We will definatley be back. Thank you for a fab few days, have already recommended to my friends that camp. See you next year

:-) Had a fantastic few days, the facilities were spotless and the whole site kept lovely. The addition of a water outlet at every pitch was a good touch (my kids loved it,one less job for them  )
Will definitely be going again and would not hesitate to recommend the site to others. :-)
Thank you.

 We stayed for 3 nights out of scchool holidays, the toilet block is one of the best we have used with hot showers for adults and warm showers for children, cloths left by every sink and a mop for people to tidy up after their shower all made for the perfect shower block in our opinion. The dog walking area is very small so we had to take our two dogs off of site, this would be my one very small niggle! Size of the pitches was good with plenty of room to park the car and sit and have a BBQ. OUr last night was a bit noisey from some people about 5 vans down however the site owner very quickly stopped the noise and peace and traquility resumed, yes you can hear cars and bikes from the near by road but this is minimal and certainly did not spoil our break….a nice site with very pleasant managers, they have clearly worked very hard to get it to where it is now, we will prob visit again in the near future. Thanks for a lovely relaxing weekend

After touring for a couple of years, we decided to site our Caravan on a seasonal pitch and what a lovely picturesque site we have chosen!
Westwood Caravan Park is a beautiful Park, with large fully serviced pitches and a superb modern facilities block, which is always clean and fresh.
Robert and Caroline, who only took over the Park last November, are the most friendly and extremely helpful owners and will do anything for you, if possible.
There is a washing machine and tumble dryer, for longer stays and a small shop for those essentials.
10 Minutes away by car, is a small retail park which includes a large Tesco, KFC and other shops. In Martlesham there is a very good fish and Chip shop.
There are some lovely villages surround the park including Woodbridge, and many walks which are ideal for dog owners. Felixstowe is only about 15 minutes drive and if you enjoy fishing, there is a Coarse fishing lake not far form the park.
We would recommend Westwood Caravan Park to anyone, whether camping or caravanning and would like to thank Caroline and Robert for making our visits a pleasure and something we always really look forward too.

Just returned from a 9 day stay at this gem of a caravan park. We were part of a small caravan rally and were made to feel extremely welcome by the owners who had put together a welcome pack for each member as they arrived,a nice touch. The facilities are excellent, toile ts kept spotlessly clean at all times, hot water was never in short supply to either wash basins or showers. All in all would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone and hope to visit again in the not too distant future……Last but not least a big thankyou to Caroline and Robert for sharing their lovely caravan park with us.

What a lovely site – so clean and well run. The shower/toilet facilities were excellent and one of the showers had a cooler water temperature for the children, which was a nice touch. Our EHU pitch for our trailer tent was ideal with its own tap and plenty of space. There is a small area with play equipment set aside at the top corner of the site for children – but we didn’t investigate it as we didn’t have any children with us. It was all tents at that end and that’s where most of the children were. There is a small games room for the older kids – next to the toilet block in the middle of the site, which had a laundry room (helpful for longer visits). It was May Bank Holiday weekend and the site was nearly full, but wasn’t too noisy. Only 2 wash-up sinks meant a queue, but it was nice and dry and a chance to chat while queuing. There is very little shelter over the sinks so could be uncomfortable to try and wash up when it’s raining. There are no shops in the area – but seem to be some really nice pubs that do good food. We couldn’t go as we have a dog which stops us getting to some places. The best selection of shops is probably at Ipswich as there is a retail park with a supermarket (Tesco) and B&Q if there are bits you have forgotten. The road along the site can be noisy – but we live close to a busy road so it didn’t bother us.We visited Felixstowe – for the first and last time. The tourist information office at Woodbridge are extremely helpful in giving you stuff about the area,The owners took over this site in November 2010 and they seem to be doing well. They had a information pack all prepared for us when we arrived, which we appreciated as this was our first visit to Suffolk. Nice couple who are extremely helpful. We will definitely return.

Hi, Would like to say thank you for letting us camp at Westwood. We all had a great weekend and the kids enjoyed themselves very much. Your toilet and shower block was so clean and very modern and probably one of the cleanest we have been to. your games room and kids park area was spot on. we hope to come back soon. Many Thanks

Jolly Jordan’s stayed at westwood on Whitsun Bank Holiday 2011.Just returned from a three day break at Westwood and what a lovely time we had. The site itself is set in a picturesque location of Bucklesham. It’s easy to find, the owners are extremely helpful and welcoming. They keeo the whole of the site spotless. The toilet and showe facilities are of the highest standard, plently of hot water. They have even thought of children by providing them with a shower with the temperature cooler for the little ones!! The pitches are of a good size with tp beside most of the. The children’s play area was fantastic, go karts, slide, swings, netball, mini trampoline and even a small goal for footie. It kept the children amused most of the time. The family games room was also a winner with the children which had a pool table in it too. The shop is handy for any little bits you may need. All dogs are kept on leads and the outside area is kept for their walking route which is a great idea.On the whole we would definatley recommend this site to everyone, such a lovely place it would be a shame to miss out!!(Review posted by email direct from visitor 30/05/11 09:53)
